Where do you find this stuff. Love Penn and Teller. This gives me hope in people not being mindless drones when it comes to religion in general. Wake up people and question religion.
The internet is loaded with this stuff. You just have to know what you are looking for. Of course it helps that I read a lot on religion, it’s history, archeology, and the alleged holy books.
Reading the bible from cover to cover will make you go WTF. Then you hear people picking one passage over another and weighting it heavier than some other passage/law and you go hey but what about this stupidity. It says you have to do this in the bible. Then you get to sit back and hear the mental gymnastics of how they intend to avoid that but include this without touching upon this topic while at the same time violating these other laws. Amazing shit when you realized just how messed up the world would be if we actually applied the bible to it.
Even as a small child I would sit in church and wonder what the hell was wrong with the hypocrites that sat next to me every Sunday. I admit I closed myself off from religion young age and found I always had more questions than anyone would answer. I often made the preacher mad by questioning their doctrine. It always made me giggle thinking of a “daddy in the sky” when the same people would curse anyone not of their faith.
I actually had someone tell me as an adult that my children were going to go to hell because they were not baptised. I understand that some need to believe in the daddy in the sky but to question my parentage because I tell my children to question everything is just another reason why I choose to be Atheist. I often use the example of medical sciences to my children telling them, would you use a medical book from hundred or thousands of years ago or would you look to what is relevant in this day in age.
