Children Can't Dress Immodestly
Reblogged from By Common Consent, a Mormon Blog:
The Mormon Church teaches little girls are immodest if they expose their shoulders. That is a scandal. Children can't dress immodestly for the same reasons seven-year-olds can't sin and twelve-year-olds can't enter into contracts. They don't have the knowledge and understanding that would give them the capacity. So as a father of two young children being raised in the Mormon faith, I was disappointed to see the article titled…
Ode to a Prayer by Bigstick
Ode To A Prayer
by me (Bigstick)
A person walked into the story today drunk off his feet.
I said a prayer for him which I thought was rather sweet.
He drove off in his car without a peep.
My prayer gave me instant positive feedback that made me feel all warm, gushy and neat.
I guess I should dealt in reality and involved myself with humanity.
Now two people lie dead with another having threes squares and a bed.
Today a friend told me they are being beat.
I told them I would pray for them, I thought that was rather neat.
My prayer gave me instant positive feedback that made me feel all warm, gushy and upbeat.
I guess I should have dealt in reality and involved myself with humanity.
However, that would have been a feat.
Now they lie dead in the morgue ready to be planted six-foot deep.
Today I pray to Allah/God to cure my child of pneumonia as he is close to defeat.
My prayer gave me instant positive feedback that made me feel all warm, gushy and neat.
I guess I should have dealt in reality and involved myself with humanity.
I should be happy I suppose that a relative did not share in my belief but instead dealt in reality.
So they called the ambulance and my child’s health become a doctor’s priority.
Again I guess I should have been happy but the act annoyed me as they should have respected my belief grounded in fantasy.
Now my child lies in a hospital bed hooked up to machines to help him breathe while monitoring his heart beat.
Now I decide to say a prayer to assist me in my feeling of defeat.
My prayer gave me instant positive feedback that made me feel all warm, gushy and upbeat.
