For many of my readers the term Ijtihad will seem very foreign. It is an islamic term which can mean to “rethink” or “independent reasoning”. It has other meanings as the analysis below will provide; however, my focus will be on the meanings provided. Now for those of you who are interested, this will give you a bit of history but at the expense of some of your time. Quite frankly this is an area of Islam I feel needs to be re-evaluated and possibly embraced. So for those of you who would like to journey down a path of exploring this subject then come and join me to where possibly only historians, scholars or dedicated religious will endeavor to fully research. Now I will be posting different views and points but I have no intention to subscribing to one or another at this point as I am on a journey of re-evaluation.

Now for some of you, you are asking why is an atheist interested? Well, it provides for understanding , sheds light on history and opens the door to dialogue. Then I am just a curious sort that likes to see how applications, cultures, traditions etc. were shaped. I just find it fascinating.

Learning physics is best to start at the beginning. Now there are 12 parts to this and this is part 1. Now part 1 is one hour and fifty-four minutes. So if you want to learn more about physic in a more in-depth fashion this is an excellent place to start.

Now here is a concept. Instead of letting your kids watch some kid titan, transformer, or other kid program of this nature. Try having them watch a beginning physics documentary and getting them engaged in just what this knowledge will do for them when they get older. In fact, you both can research the possiblities together.
